Begonias planted in hanging baskets are experiencing a true renaissance. Beautiful, large, spectacular flowers on healthy, strong plants which tolerate even the Nordic summer weather with its rains and winds – this describe BELLECONIA, the new improved begonias for pots, window boxes and hanging baskets.
The Belleconia varieties are all strong and easy to grow and care for, they love warm and sunny conditions, but are equally adapted to semi-shade. They are tolerant to drying out, and are always producing a lot of flowers. The big, full flowers are self-cleaning in dry weather, but deadheading is recommended in periods of damp weather.
Belleconia are propagated from cuttings and come in several lovely, vivid colours. The flowers are reminiscent of the flowers of tuberous begonias, but compared to these the habit of Belleconia is more compact with a considerable more regular growth. In addition to the many, large flowers Belleconia produces a good number of side shoots resulting in plants which are nice and compact and soon fill out the pot or container. Placed in a sunny spot with fresh air Belleconia will bloom plentifully throughout the summer till late autumn. They are easy to care for and only require some water and a bit of deadheading now and then.
