SUNDAZE are modern ’everlasting’ flowers. In addition to being excellent summer flowers , colourful and fascinating to touch – the flowers rustle like paper -, they can also be enjoyed indoors, fresh or dried. Sundaze ‘Magenta’ has a vigorous and full bodied growth with strong and firm stems and stunning bright magenta, double straw flowers with pink tones around a yellow button in the centre.

The SUNDAZE-series, which was developed at Redlands Nursery in Queensland, Australia, is available in several, warm, glowing colours. All varieties have beautiful, large, fully double flowers and bloom till late in the autumn. The plants are of medium height, approx. 30-50 cm, and excel under a wide range of conditions from the dry and hot Australian climate to our somewhat cooler and more rainy Nordic weather.
Sundaze are modern ‘everlasting’, paper-like flowers and make terrific garden displays and also excellent specimens for large containers and combination planting, but they are also some of the best flowers for floral art, featured either fresh or dried in floral arrangements indoor, as the flower heads keep their shape and the colours. Previously, they were often planted from seeds, and wound reach a height of up to 70-80 cm, and were called Heliochrysum. The correct botanical name is Bracteantha, but they are also known as ‘dried flowers’, ‘strawflowers, or ‘paper flowers’’ – they rustle like paper when touched.
Sundaze can be grown in pots, containers or garden beds. They prefer full sun or partial shade, with free-draining soil or compost. Water frequently, preferably every day and feed with fertilizer at least once a week. The flowering lasts from spring till late autumn and new flowers will cover the old ones. Dead-heading is not essential, but often preferred to keep the plant neat and tidy.
Dazette is a series of similar varieties, only with a lower, usually compact growth and smaller, more single flowers.
