About Bracteantha:
The DAZETTE varieties are bred in Australia like the somewhat larger Bracteantha hybrids Sundaze. The Dazettes have a compact, low growth as well as single and smaller flowers. All are vividly coloured. The plants are only approx. 30 cm high and 25-30 cm wide and thus present themselves especially well in pots or small tubs for the patio, where they perform with a minimum of care. They are doing very well under widely varying conditions, ranging from the dry and warm Australian climate to our cooler and often rainy northern Europe. Dazettes prefer, however, full sun and a free-draining soil or compost. Water when needed and add fertilizer once a week. The flowering lasts from spring to late autumn. Dazettes are modern ‘everlasting’, strawflowers in a small version. They are excellent flowers for summer and autumn, richly coloured and fascinating to touch. They require very little care – dead-heading is not essential, faded flowers will soon be covered by new growth and flowers which continuously spring up like small suns.
